Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visited the victims of the wall collapse incident at Simhachalam Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple on Wednesday and console the bereaved the families.

He demanded the Government to pay an exgratia of Rs. 1 Crore to the bereaved family members who died in the incident. He also demanded that the CM Chandrababu is held responsible to take accountability on the incident.

Speaking to the media persons YS Jagan criticized that whenever Chandrababu came into power as CM pilgrims or devotees are died in so many incidents. At the time of Godavari Pushkars 29 devotees died in a stampede, in 2025 seven devotees died in a stampede at Tirupati on the occasion Vaikunta Ekadasi while taking darshan tokens.

In Srikurmam Temple in Srikakulam district many tortoises have died. Now this incident happened due to his negligence in organizing the festival ceremonies in the temples. The Cabinet sub-committee Ministers, the temple EO and other officials who are involved in the festival organization committee punished vigorously, he demanded.

He also consoled the victim families and attended a burial ceremony at a burial ground in Madhuravada in Visakhapatnam. He also promised the victims the Government sanctioned only Rs. 25 Lakhs exgratia to the victims, he will pay the rest of Rs. 75 Lakhs exgratia after he resume as CM 2.0.
