Bhopal: Atleast 11 killed and nearly 200 people were injured at a fire cracker factory at Harda District in Madhya Pradesh. Several blasts occurred around 11.30 am in the cracker factory owned by an Agrawal family in Magardha Road area   around 2 km from Harda district headquarters.

Seven of the deceased have been identified while ten persons died in Harda district only, one person died while being rushed to Bhopal for life-saving treatment. Over 25 critically injured people were rushed to hospital in Bhopal.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav visited AIIMS-Bhopal and met the injured persons and confirmed the deaths of 11 persons. I’ve met nine people out of the 12 brought at AIIMS-Bhopal. I’ll go to Harda District after the Vidhan Sabha session on Wednesday.

Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each for the families of the deceased  PM Narendra Modi conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and announced Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured from the PM National Relief Fund.

MP CM announced a high-level probe with three member committee headed by Principal Secretary (Home) Sanjay Dube and having as members ADG-Intelligence Jaideep Prasad and Secretary (PWD) RK Mehra.

According to reports from Harda district, around 1000 personnel, including teams of NDRF and SDRF, are engaged in rescue operations at the site of the accident.
