Hyderabad: Bandi Bhageerath Sai son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar arrested on Saturday for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor. The police registered a case against Bandi Bhageerath Sai under the sections of POCSO Act and BNS.

Bandi Bagheerath in his X post said that he was surrender before the Petbasheerabad police in presence of his lawyers. His surrender comes under the back drop the Telangana High Court refused to grant Sai interim protection from arrest. Sai’s counsel told the judge that the survivor’s mother, who is the complainant in the case, had said that her daughter had entered into a relationship with him last year and that it was cordial. The bail plea was opposed by the survivor’s lawyer. Justice T Madhavi Devi said she was not inclined to issue any interim order at this stage.

The Petbasheerabad police interrogated the accused Bandi Bagheerath for two hours and later he produced before the Judge. After the arguments Judge ordered a 14-day judicial custody to Bandi Bagheerath and he was sent to Cherlapally prison.
