New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi decided to represent from as MP from Raebareli in UP. He wants to give up Wayanad seat in Kerala.

The AICC Chief Mallikarjun Kharge announced that Rahul Gandhi won in Raebareli and Wayanad constituencies as MP in the recent elections. He chooses Raebareli and resigns as MP at Wayanad constituency.

The AICC General Secretary, sister of Rahul Gandhi Priyanka Vadra Gandhi will contest from Wayanad which will be going for bye – polls after Rahul Gandhi resignation. The AICC had a discussion in the party and at the Kerala alliance parties also.

The presence of a Gandhi family member in Wayanad is expected to be a huge benefit. While the seat has been a traditional Congress bastion, Rahul Gandhi’s election this year is said to have re-vitalized the party. Of the 20 seats in Kerala, the Congress has won 14 seats, only one down, despite a massive BJP campaign that enabled them to open account in the State with one seat.

Kerala Congress’s enthusiasm for the new candidate, senior party leader from the state, KC Venugopal, was seen with Kharge at the press conference on Monday announced the name of Priyanka Vadra Gandhi Vadra as a MP candidate in Wayanad constituency.
