Chennai: Former IPS officer K Annamalai launched “We the Leaders” a new mass movement and political platform. He officially quits from BJP on June 5^th. On 6^th June he formed his political outfit and within 24 hours of the launch of this platform, nearly 14 lakh (over 13.85 lakh) people signed up as volunteers.

This proves the Annamalai craze. The BJP has announced that they have no loss due to Annamalai’s departure; the situation at the ground level looks different. Immediately after Annamalai resigned Tamil Nadu BJP State VP Nagarajan and several senior leaders also resigned from their posts in support of him and Annamalai took the path of a new movement.

Speaking on this occasion he said that there will no longer be hereditary politics and cult politics revolving around one person in Tamil Nadu. The common man should be the ruler that is the main purpose of our ‘We the Leaders’. He clarified that this movement will be carried out with the aim of education, medicine, environmental protection and youth development. In the future, he announced that it will be transformed into a full-fledged political party and fielded in the Lok Sabha elections -2029. He revealed that the APJ Abdul Kalam Center for Ethics and Politics will be established to provide moral training to future political leaders.
