New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke announced a nationwide campaign demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He urged students, farmers and civil society groups to join a protest at Jantar Mantar on June 28th.

Speaking to the media persons he said that activist Sonam Wangchuk would join the Pradhan Go Back campaign at Jantar Mantar on Sunday. Pradhan Go Back initiative aimed to build a nationwide movement seeking accountability from the Government. He appealed to students, parents, teachers, farmer unions and civil society organizations to participate in Sunday’s protest.

Dipke questioned the Government how long will this country function without accountability? What kind of democracy is this? Is it a good thing that no one resigns in this government, he added.

He further urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure Pradhan’s resignation, warning that otherwise he would be considered directly responsible for the deaths of students. If the PM does not take any action, then he is incompetent as the prime minister of India. He also demanded compensation of Rs 1 crore each for the families of students who died by suicide.

He also alleged that some protesters and volunteers at Jantar Mantar had been attacked by hooligans and accused the police of failing to act despite complaints.
