Chennai: Tamil actress Kasturi Shankar was sent to Judicial custody to the Puzhal prison on Sunday. The Egmore special police team was taken Kasturi in to custody on Saturday night at Hyderabad and was transported her by road from Hyderabad to Chennai.

She was produced before the Vth Metro Politian Magistrate court in Egmore on Sunday, Magistrate Raghupati Raja issued the remind order. According to the police sources police filed FIR on her under Section 191 and 192 of the BNS act of 2023. The police filed case against her accusing of hate speech and targeting the Telugu community.

She made this controversy statement on November 3 at a Brahmin meeting in Chennai. She allegedly stated that Telugu speaking people in Tamil Nadu were descendants of courtesans, who came to server Tamil things 300’s ago and were now claiming Tamil origins.

The Naidu Mahajan Sangam state executive committee filed a case against her on derogated comments on Telugu people. The Madurai bench of Madras High Court dismissed her anticipatory bail plea on November 14.
