12K migrant workers of five states sent back in Shramik special trains

Hyderabad: Over 12K migrant workers belonging to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh left for their native places on special trains on Wednesday. More number of trains would be operated to send back the migrant workers to their homes on Thursday, said officials.

Though the Chief Minister K.Chandra Sekhar Rao wants migrant workers to stay here, the migrant workers left from six railway stations on Wednesday in 11 special trains, said officials. The first two special trains left for Jharkhand and Bihar with the migrant workers from Lingampally and Ghatkesar in the past one week. On Wednesday 11 trains started from Bibinagar, Cherlapally, Ghatkesar, Moula- Ali, Medchal and Lingampally.  At 12.00 pm 1, 270 migrant workers belongs to Bihar departed in a special train from Cherlapally to Sitamarhi on Wednesday.

Again at 3.00 am another train to Barbanki in Uttar Pradesh departed with 1, 220 migrant workers. Two trains from Ghatkesar to Jharkhand and Bhagalpur in Bihar. Another two trains from Bibinagar to Gaya and Bhopal. Another two special trains left from Bolaram and Medchal carrying 2K passengers going to Katni in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Three trains from Lingampally to Darbhanga, Gorakhpur and Bhagalpur carrying 3, 500 passengers. Face masks, water and food packets were provided to all migrant workers by the Government.
