Hyderabad: The ACB arrested Mahaboobnagar Municipal Commissioner V Surender and seized Rs. 1.65 Lakh cash from him on Thursday at his office. He was caught red-handedly by the ACB when he is taking the bribe. As per the ACB statement, surrender demanded the bribe from Ali Ahmed Khan, a contractor from Mahaboobnagar to forward the quotations of the complainant to the collector for approval and to issue work order for installation of a new chlorination plant in the municipality.

The ACB officials trapped the accused and recovered the bribe amount from his possession. Surender was arrested and searches at his office and house were conducted.

Dundigal: The ACB officials arrested the Dundigal DEE Hanumantha Rao Naik and seized Rs. 2.25 Lakh cash from him on Thursday. The accused was caught red-handed at Uppal indoor stadium when he took Rs. 2.25 Lakh from Riyasat Khan to do check measurement in respect of the work executed by the complainant at Suryapet municipality. The accused engineer was previously posted in Suryapet.
