New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people once again to remain vigilant and not lower their guard in the country’s fight against the Covid- 19 pandemic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address the people of West Bengal on the sixth day of Durga puja on Thursday, he virtually inaugurated the Durga Pandal at Salt Lake in Kolkata.

In his address, Modi extend greetings to the Bengali people, “Apna Dar Sakalke Janani Durga Puja O Kali Pujar Shubhechha”, while appealing to revelers to celebrate puja with caution amid the pandemic. After recalling several measures towards women empowerment, he appealed to the people to adhere to social distancing norms and wear masks while taking part in festivities. We are celebrating Durga puja in times of Covid- 19, all devotees have shown exemplary restraint, said Modi.

The number of people might be less but the grandeur and devotion are the same. This is the real Bengal, he said while sharing his greetings messaged the people of Bengal. The BJP has made elaborate arrangements for live viewing of the Modi’s virtual address from the New Delhi. The event was televised live at over 78K polling booths across the West Bengal’s 294 Assembly constituencies.
