Actress Deepika Visits JNU

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone visited the JNU on Tuesday evening, two days after a masked mob attacked students and teachers on the campus, resulted 34 injured and provoking nation-wide agitations.

She visited JNU around 07:45pm and stayed on campus for above 10 minutes. She did not speak at the university, she was seen standing with a group of students who were attacked. They were students union president Aisha Ghosh, former student leader Kanhaiah Kumar was also present.

She was in Delhi to promote her upcoming film, was in all black-also a symbol of solidarity with the students, while visiting the university. The students welcomed her to the university by chanting of ‘Azadi’.

Bollywood top stars including Padukone, stood out amid conspicuous silence by film industries. A listers on student protests and demonstrations across the country against the CAA and NRC. The BJP spokes persons Rajender Pal Singh Bagga said that Boycott movies of Deepika Padukone for her support to #Tukde Tukde Gang and Afzal Gang.
