T.T.D may stop VIP darshans: Y.V. Subba Reddy

Tirupati: The TTD Board Chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy said that the temple administration would soon suspend the categorization of VIP break darshan under L-1, L-2 and general categorize.

   Speaking to the media persons on Saturday he said that the decision will take in the first meeting of TTD trust board which will constitute within ten days from today. He inspected the Balaji Institute of Research, Rehabilitation and Surgery for the disabled (BIRRD) hospital in Tirupati. He underlined the need to impose curbs on the repeated visits of VIP’s to the Tirumala temple, he felt that the VIP’s should consider visit to Tirumala only once in a year. In order to reduce the inconvenience caused to the common devotees with VIP break darshan.

    He also said that the new trust board will focus on improving facilities at Tirumala and enhance the duration of darshan timings for common devotees. He also said that the new trust board’s top priority was to ensure hassle free darshan to commuters. He had discussions with BIRRD doctors about the hospital, the doctors got several issues to the notice of the Chairman to improve further patient care in the hospital. He assured the doctors the board’s moto is to take BIRRD hospital global standards. He also said that the board will construct 40 more rooms for the patients with the cost of Rs. Four crores to the patients and advance medical equipments would also be procured.
