AP CM YS Jagan felicitated Retired Major General C. Venugopal on the occasion of “Swarnim Vijay Warsh”

Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy extended “Greetings to the warriors, greetings to the Indian Army. Greetings to the brave soldiers who helped the 135 crore people to breathe free air”.

The AP CM in his address at the Swarnim Vijay Warsh function at the Police Parade Ground in Tirupati on Thursday, he lauded the services of the soldiers guarding the country’s borders, regardless of the sun, cold and rain.  YS Jagan said that Bangladesh was formed 50 years ago because of our country and our army in a dictatorial situation that did not recognize and respect democracy. It is said that these festivities were carried out on this occasion.

The event is being organized as the triumphal torch lit by the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Tirupati on December 16, 2020. The Prime Minister lit four victory torches in New Delhi on December 16 last year to mark India’s victory in the Indo-Pak war. They traveled all over the country.

Every soldier involved in the Indo-Pak war has been greeted together as ‘Yodhuda Salam’. Vijaya Jwala, who had traveled in the southern states, reached Tirupati on Wednesday. Police reached the parade ground through the house of retired Major General Venugopal. CM YS Jagan saluted the flame.

Retired Major General C. Venugopal (95) was felicitated by CM Jagan in 1971 for his outstanding service in the Indo-Pak war, recipient of the Distinguished Service Medal and Veteran. Venugopal was taken ill and the CM visited his residence. CMO planted a plant at Venugopal’s house. Afterwards, the police reached the parade ground and paid homage to the late Jazz monk Satimani Chinnatalli, son Havaldar Gangaraju, Battalion Commandant.

There are sacrifices made by our Army for the liberation of Bangladesh. Reminding them, Vijaya Jyoti Jwala came to Tirupati. Saluting the fighting warriors. The wife of Jazz monk Gary bows her head to her mother.

The state government has so far paid Rs 10 lakh for the Paramvir Chakra and Ashoka Chakra medals in addition to the amount provided by the central government. The sacrifices of the soldiers are unforgettable, no matter how little is said about the army that keeps an eye on us. Until now, Rs 8 lakh was given for the Maha Veera Chakra and Kirti Chakra awards.

It will now increase tenfold to Rs 80 lakh. The state government will provide a grant of Rs 6 lakh for the Veerachakra and Shouryachakra awards. From now on we will provide Rs. 60 lakhs. We are implementing a compensation of Rs 50 lakh in case of heroic death of the soldiers.

Chittoor District Minister in charge Mekapati Gautam Reddy, DGP Gautam Sawang, Deputy CM Narayana Swamy, State Panchayati Raj Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, TTD Chairman YV Subbareddy, Rajampeta MP Mithun Reddy, several MLAs and officials were present on the occasion.

On behalf of KJ Christopher of Kakinada, the CM honored Lieutenant General Arun Kumar and Major General Rakesh Kumar Singh. Rakesh Kumar Singh announced that the clay taken from Venugopal’s house would be placed in the National War Museum along with Vijaya Jwala. Retired Major General C. Venugopal, a war veteran, said that the CM felt honored and was satisfied for having done his part as a citizen of the country. He said through his aide that he was proud to have the opportunity to serve the country by participating in the 1971 war.
