Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will inaugurate the tallest statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Swaraj Maidan in Vijayawada on Friday.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s statue is called as the “Statue of Social Justice”. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s statue “Statue of Social Justice” constructed in 18.81 acres of land in the central place of Vijayawada. The AP Government completed this construction work within three years at the cost of Rs. 404.35 crores.

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s statue was constructed in 8.18 acres and the remaining land is developed with parks and other amenities etc. The Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s statue is built with a height of 206 feets. The base of the statue is 81 feets, and the rest of the statue height is 125 feets. It is one of the highest statues in the world.

The basement building depth comprised with 30 mts with 539 pillars.  The building front corridor is having 166 pillars. Building length is 38 mts, width 4.5 mts. In this building a photo art gallery of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s life moments of 38 pictures, in this building there is a cinema hall and three exhibition halls. The 81 mts basement was built in two floors.

This Statue of Social Justice is a special attraction to Vijayawada and it attracts tourists. It will turn in future as a important tourist spot in AP.
