Central teams reached Hyderabad to asses Covid- 19 situation

Hyderabad: The Home Ministry constituted four more Inter-Ministerial Central teams on Friday to assess the seriousness Covid- 19 situation in emerging hotspots of Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Surat in Gujarat and Chennai in Tamil Nadu.

The IMCT for Mumbai will also may an on the spot assessment for Thane in Maharashtra. The IMCT team arrived in Hyderabad on Friday evening. These IMCT teams will issue necessary directions to State Authorities for redressal of the situation and submit their report to the Central Government in larger interest of the general public, said the Home Ministry.

The IMCT is headed by Additional Secretary Officers and comprising public health specialists and disaster management experts. The IMCTs would use their expertise to augment of the state’s efforts to fight and contain in the spread of Covid- 19 effectively. The IMCT teams which arrives to the city, the team members are lightly to visit Gachibowli stadium where a new Covid- 19 hospital is ready. The teams also visit some other places apart from interacting with the officials.

Telangana Health Minister Etela Rajender said that the Government has been implementing the lock down effectively and containing the spread of Covid- 19 in the state. The Government has been working in a transparent manner, he said to the media persons. Telangana is a leader in innovative measures, he added.
