Chattisgarh and Maharashtra oppose resumption of local flights

New Delhi: The Congress lead Chattisgarh Government said to the Union Government should not open up the flight services or the rail routes without putting in place of effective standard operation procedures, including a mandatory quarantine period, for passengers whose choose to travel.

The Government said to the Centre two days before domestic airlines are set to resume business. The Maharashtra Government on Saturday said it would not allow flights to take off or land from the state. The Assam earlier said that a 14 day quarantine period would be compulsory for those coming into the state, Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel wrote a letter to Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Rail Minister Piyush Goyal demand SOPs for passengers. A mandatory of 14 day quarantine and insisted that the State Government must receive prior information, including contact details, of all passengers who choose to travel.

He also demanded in his letter that details of each flight and passengers should be provided to recipients states that a 14 day quarantine period be mandated at paid or state run facilities, and that passengers should be informed of this at the time of booking their tickets. Raising concerns over the resumption of flights services without any operating procedures, he asserted it should be made operational only with strict and effective guidelines.
