Congress leaders to protest on June 2nd: at pending irrigation projects sites

Hyderabad: Congress is going to plan to stage protests at sites of all pending irrigation projects on Krishna and Godavari Rivers on June 2nd, the formation day of Telangana State, said Telangana PCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy.

Speaking to the media on Saturday he said that a team, comprising of senior leaders was formed in this regard. The party’s move to protests on June 2nd is to expose the TRS Government failure to complete the all pending irrigation projects at hand. The protest will be held from 10 am to 5 pm, he said. The DCC representatives would meet farmers on June 2nd and 3rd, he said. Farmers will never accept KCR’s Tughlak agriculture policy. The party will go to Court against officials directing companies not to sell seeds of crops that are not suggested by Government, he added.

The Congress also constituted core committees to take on the TRS Government for its failures on various issues. CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka would lead the financial affairs committee, TPCC working President Ponnam Prabhakar on Osmania University land encroachment and education. G. Chinna Reddy and M. Kodanda Reddy on the new Agriculture policy and MLC Jeevan Reddy will head the committee to plan protests against the irrigation projects, he said. The party members would complain against the economic policies of the state to the Prime Minister and Union Finance Minister, he said.
