Covid-19 Cases Tally Crossed 1.51 L in India

New Delhi: A Covid-19 cases in the country crossed 1.51 lakhs on Tuesday after a record number of new cases 6,867 registered in a single day. India’s Covid-19 death toll has also crossed the 4000 marked, marking an over three-fold increase since May 1st. The total number active cases have more than tripled to this time period.

The number of Covid-19 recoveries grown over six-fold since than to nearly 60,000 now. Badly hits states Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Delhi continue to report large number of positive cases, states like Bihar, UP, Madhya Pradesh, Odissa and Jharkhand have seen their tallies reaching to the levels up to 10 times of the numbers recorded before return of their people in special trains from states where they had gone as migrant workers.

Nagaland also reported its first three cases on Monday; all three members are at the age of 20, who currently returned to the state from Chennai in a special train. India’s first Covid-19 case was detected in late January, but Nagaland had remained three of it so far. In their Covid-19 updates, many states and union territories have been mentioning for the past few days about people coming from other states are from abroad accounting for a large chunk of the new cases.
