Covid-19 Tally Crossed 1.47 L in India

New Delhi: The Covid-19 infection cases tally crossed 1.47 L on Tuesday in the country. The Covid-19 cases raise number amid large scale return of migrant workers to Bihar, West Bengal, Assam and Odissa from other state. The numbers rose further in the worst hit states including Maharashtra, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu as well, while Delhi, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Kerala, Karnataka and AP also figured among the states and union territories reporting new cases.

The union health ministry joint secretary Lav Agarwal said in a press briefing, the recovery rate in the country continues to improve and is presently 41.61%. The Covid-19 fraternity rate has reduced from 3.3% on April 15 to2.87%, which is among the lowest in the world. The ministry on Tuesday morning update said the death toll has risen 4167 and the number of cases has climbed to 145380 in the country, registering an increase of 146 deaths and 6535 cases in 24 hours.

He also said that the number of active cases at more than 80,000 and recoveries at over 60,000. The health minister suggested to the five states reporting surge in Covid-19 cases over the last three weeks to analyze the trends in containment zones and adopt course correction measures through proper implementation of micro plans. These states are UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
