Delhi could reach 5.5 L Covid- 19 cases by July end: Manish Sisodia

As per the Government’s estimates, there will be around 44K Covid- 19 cases by June 15th, One Lakh June 30th, 2.25 lakh by July 15th and 5.5 lakh by July 31st, while the number of beds required on these dates would be 6, 600, 5K, 33K and 80K respectively: Deputy CM Sisodia.

New Delhi: The Covid- 19 cases are likely to reach 5.5 lakhs by end of July in Delhi, said Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Speaking to the media reporters on Tuesday Delhi would requires atleast 80K beds to provide treatment to the residents of the city as well as those coming from other states.

Deputy Chief Minister had a meeting with the State Disasters Management Authority and reviewed the Covid- 19 situation in the city. Later he told to the reporters doubling rate of Covid- 19 cases in the National Capital was around 12- 13 days. As per the Government’s estimates, there will be around 44K Covid- 19 cases by June 15th, One Lakh June 30th, 2.25 lakh by July 15th and 5.5 lakh by July 31st, while the number of beds required on these dates would be 6, 600, 5K, 33K and 80K respectively.

Deputy Chief Minister claimed he asked Lt. Governor Anil Baijal how he proposed to arrange 80K beds and later said he “did not know”. Sisodia also said he asked the L.G to reconsider his decision to overrule the Government’s notification reserving state run and private hospitals per the residents of Delhi but he refused to do so.
