New Delhi: ED officials arrested Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday midnight after hours of questioning in connection with the re-development of a chawl in Mumbai. ED will produce Sanjay Raut in Court at 11.30 am in Mumbai.

Shiv Sena planned to stage protests across the State on Sanjay Raut’s arrest. ED officials had searched Raut’s home for the most part of Sunday after he refused to appear for questioning despite being summoned twice. ED officials reached Sanjay Raut’s residence at 7 am on Sunday. ED officials took away him to the ED office in the evening.

They questioned Raut in connection with the re-development of a chawl in Mumbai and related transactions involving his wife and close associates. Speaking with the reporters before entering the ED office on Sunday, he said that the central anti-financial crime agency’s action was aimed at trying to weaken the Shiv Sena and that a false case was prepared against him.
