Vijayawada: AP Government it was very happy to honour the individuals and organizations that were rendered their services in their respective fields, said Governor Bhiswabushan Harichandan. He felicitated the YSR Award winners on Monday at A1 Conventional Centre in Vijayawada along with Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Speaking on the occasion Governor said that late YS Rajasekhar Reddy, the then CM of Andhra Pradesh have worked hard for the development of farmers and the poor. His achievements made permanent gratitude in the heart of poor and farmers forever.

The decision to present awards annually in his name, reflecting the great personality of that great leader, would encourage the social, artistic and cultural spheres, he said. The state government had created a positive trend by selecting and awarding those who did not see any recognition even for their outstanding contribution in the social, service and cultural fields, he added.

Governor Bhiswabushan Harichandan paid floral tributes to the statues of Amarajeevi Potti Sri Ramulu and YS Rajasekhar Reddy before presenting the awards. He also participated in the AP State Formation Day celebrations.
