India Crossed Five Lakh Marked in Covid-19 Cases

New Delhi: India has the fourth-highest number of Covid-19 cases among 10 nations worst-hit by Covid-19. Covid-19 cases crossed the five lakh marked on Friday, after the country reported its highest single day spike of over 17,000 cases. Maharashtra, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu also reported their biggest one day Covid-19 cases.

The overall death count reached to 15,301 with 407 new fatalities. On Friday Maharashtra reported 5,024 cases, 175 deaths. Delhi recorded 3,460 cases in a single day. Tamil Nadu is the third place in the Covid-19 cases in the country, and has reported 3,509 new cases on Friday, total death toll raises 911. West Bengal reported a high spike in the Covid-19 cases with a number of 542 new cases.

Haryana recorded 421 new cases on Friday. Delhi, Chennai, Thane, Mumbai, Palghar, Pune, Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Ahmedabad and Faridabad are 10 cities and districts that have contributed to 54.47 per cent of the total cases in the country. Delhi, earlier this month, overtook Mumbai to be the worst-hit city in India.
