Blast in Saloomi Ceramic Factory at Sudan: 23 Died, 130 Injured

Khartoum: 23 people killed and 130 injured in a Horrific LPG tanker blast at a ceramic factory in Sudan, the Indian mission said on Wednesday. As per the sources, atleast 18 Indians were among the 23 people killed, 16 Indians were missing after the incident happened at Saloomi Ceramic factory in Bahri area in Khartoum, the capital city of Sudan.

       Some of the missing may be in the list of dead which we are still to receive. As identification is not possible because of the body being burnt, said Indian Embassy in a press release. As per its data seven people have been hospitalized, with four in critical condition.

      34 Indians who survived have been accommodated at the Saloomi ceramics factory. According to the Sudani’s government, the preliminary reports indicate that necessary safety equipments were missing at the site. There were also inflammable materials improperly stored, which led to the spread of the fire. Investigation is going on.
