Jagan, Yediyurappa offers prayers to Lord Venkateshwara: Two CMs laid foundation stone for Karnataka new choultries at Tirumala

Tirumala: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy offered prayers to Lord Srivenkateshwara along with Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Thursday morning at Tirumala Temple, on the occasion of annual Salakatla Brahmotsavams.

AP CM Y.S. Jagan welcomed Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa at the main entrance of the temple (Mahadwaram) and both were entered into the temple and offered prayers to the deity of the Lord Srivenkateshwara. Later, they two were felicitated with a shawl on each other at the entrance of the temple and took the laddu. Later, the two CMs attended the Nada Neerajanam program at Annamayya Bhavan. They also participated in the Sundarakanda Parayanam by the TTD Veda Pandits, the two CMs spend nearly one hour in the program.

Later, the AP CM YS Jagan and Karnataka CM B.S. Yediyurappa reached the Karnataka choultry at Tirumala and they two jointly laid a foundation stone for the newly constructed choultries for the convenience of Karnataka pilgrims.  The new choultries are constructing with an estimation of Rs. 200 crores in a six and half acre land.

TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy, TTD E.O Ashok Singhal, JEO Dharma Reddy and others attended.

Earlier, on Wednesday evening AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy presented Pattu Vastrams (Silk robes) to Lord Venkateshwara on the auspicious occasion of Brahmotsavams at the Tirumala Temple. Jagan dressed in traditional attire, arrived at the Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple where he was tied the traditional ‘Parivattam’ by TTD Priests. From there, Jagan carried a set of silk robes on his head to the Tirumala temple, where he presented the silk robes to the preceding deity on behalf of the State Government and offered prayers.
