Kerala Relaxed Lockdown Rules in Seven Districts

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government wants to allow restaurants will open and a limited number of private vehicles under the odd-even scheme are allowed to ply from Monday onwards in seven districts in the states.

The government is thinking as semblance of normalcy will return to atleast seven of 14 districts in the states from Monday onwards. As the 21 day national lockdown was drawing to a close, the state government had submitted a proposal to central that divided Kerala into four zones. The zones are Red, Orange, A Orange B and Green and restrictions eased in three of these zones in a phased manner.

There will be no easing up in the red zone. The central accepted Kerala’s proposal on Friday. For the past seven days, the number of positive cases in the state was confined to single digit and the recovery rate as climbed steadily. From Monday normal life will be back in two districts i.e., Kottayam and Idukki classify as green zones because they currently have no active cases.

Several restrictions will be lifted in orange B zone districts i.e., Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Thrisur, Pallakad and Wayanad too from Monday. Dine in restaurants can function during the normal hours in Kottayam and Idukki, while in Orange B districts restaurants can function from 07:00am to 07:00pm, but they have to ensure social distancing norms and hand sanitizers. All those who step out of their home have been advised to wear masks.
