Lockdown, Police Seized 3.5K Vehicles

Hyderabad: The Telangana Police on Monday approximately, 3500 cases have been booked in Hyderabad, who violated the lockdown in the state due to the outbreak of Covid-19.

Atleast 60,000 personnel from various departments including police, medical and health departments, municipal administration, transport, civil supplies and other essential services are trying to implement the lockdown and provide uninterrupted services to the public. The police used public awareness systems in the morning to inform the motorists that after 02:00pm they would not be allowed on the roads and have to complete shopping by them.

The police was seen making violators hold placards and stand to create awareness for others. Police also barricaded the roads and allow the public only after promises of good behaviour. From Monday afternoon onwards the police started to register the cases on those who are moving on the roads on bikes, auto-rickshaws and cars with a stated purpose. The traffic police booked 2480 cases, Rachakonda police159 and Cyberabad police 250 cases were booked under various sections.

The Hyderabad police organized 73 check posts in the limits of all 25 traffic police stations of Hyderabad and seized the vehicles. Hyderabad city police commissioner Anjani Kumar requested citizens in a video message to abide by government order 45, which specifies a lockdown till March 31st.
