Hyderabad: Telangana Health Minister Etala Rajender said that the State Government is fully geared up for containment of Covid-19 in the state. After the first case confirmed in the state here in the city on Monday, the Minister said.

Speaking in press conference at DM & HO office at Koti said that we already have 40 beds in each isolation wards in Gandhi Hospital, Fever & Chest hospital in the city. The Government officials have also contacted the Indian Army with a request to use 100 bed facility the army has in artillery centre here in the city. There are enough number of Pulmonologist and other doctors and there is no shortage of masks, medicines or equipments such as respirators, said the Minister.

He appealed the people to practice good hygiene and wash their hands frequently. He also appealed to the people with any fever accompanied by cold or cough to immediately get them checked by a doctor. Anyone with cold or a cough should not sneeze or cough in the open but cover their mouth with a handkerchief.  There was no need for any panic as every possible step was being taken to contain the disease and not allow it spread, he said.
