Modi unveiled Alluri’s bronze statue: he quoted Sri Sri’s song “Telugu Veera Levaraa

Vijayawada: Prime Minister Narendra Modi quoted in Telugu, the first stanza of Telugu cine famous writer Sri Sri’s “Telugu Veera Levaraa – Deeksha Booni Sagara, Deshamata Swecha Kori Tirugubatu Cheyyaraa” on Monday. He paid tributes to the revolutionary freedom fighter Alluri Sita Rama Raju on his 125th birth anniversary, in commemoration of the freedom fighters through Azadi ki Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a 30 feet bronze statue of Alluri Sita Rama Raju at Bheemavaram Park virtually on Monday. He praised the heroic war with British Empire, to free Bharata Mata from the British. He is a champion to Indians all over the country to fight against the British Empire. I bow heroic fighter Alluri Sita Rama Raju for his bravery, said Modi in a public meeting. Modi felicitated kin of followers of Alluri Sita Rama Raju, his great Grandson and Gantam Dora’s Grandson on the dias with a shawl.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy preside over the meeting and he said that Alluri Sita Rama Raju strived for the welfare of Tribals and for their dignity in the forest against the brutal laws of British Empire. He sparked a fire in the minds of Tribals against the Britishers and takes a decision to fight with them for the freedom of the Country.

He took the path of revolution in his Independence movement, he said. A mark of respect on him, his Government named a newly formed Manyam district as Alluri Sita Rama Raju district.

AP Governor Bhiswabushan Harichandan, Union Cultural Minister G Kishan Reddy, AP State Sport and Cultural Minister RK Roja, Cine actor Chiranjeevi and others participated in the meeting.
