Amitabh Bachchan selected for Dada Saheb Phalke award

New Delhi: The Bollywood legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan selected for the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award for the year 2019. He will be felicitated at a grand ceremony in New Delhi at the National Films awards function.

   He was selected for this award for his valuable contribution for Indian film industry. For the legends of the film fraternity the Government honour with the most prestigious award of the Dada Saheb Phalke award.

    Amitabh Bachchan started his career with the film “Saat Hindustani” in 1969. He acted in almost 200 Indian and international films in his career span of five decades. His films Zanjeer, Deewar and Sholay blockbuster films gave him the Angry Youngman image in the film industry. As well as the family oriented films Bagbhan, most recently he did a cameo in the Great Gatsby (2013).  He is also a film producer, a television host most famously known as Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). He is also a singer and also travelled in politics as an MP. The Government awarded him Padma Sri (1984), Padma Bushan (2001), Padma Vibushan (2015).

   The Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javdekar congratulated Amitabh Bachchan for selecting the award Dada Saheb Phalke. In his tweeter Javdekar said that Amitabh Bachchan has been selected unanimously for Dada Saheb Phalke award.
