“Buddha and not Yuddha”, India’s Message to the World: Modi

New Delhi/New York: India is a country, which gave a message to the world “Not War”, but a peace message of Buddha said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

     Modi in his address in the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), in his 18 minutes address he focusing instead of the developmental programs under way in India. He asked the International community to stand united against terrorism. Terrorism was one of the biggest challenges for the world and not just for a single conflict, he said.

    Modi at UNGA session projecting and inclusive, fast developing spiritual and peaceful India, he quoted the ancient Tamil Poet Kanian Pungundarnar’s famous line “Yaadhum Oora Yavarum kelir” (We belong to all places and to everyone) and said this sense of belonging beyond borders, unique to India.      Modi said that is the reason why his voice against terrorism, to alert the world about this evil, Rings with seriousness and the outrage. He firmly believes that it is not absolutely imperative that the world unites against terrorism, and that the world stands as one against terrorism. He also said that there was a lack of unanimity among member countries and how to tackle terrorism.
