Heavy Rains and Floods in UP, Bihar: 90 Killed

New Delhi: Heavy rains and heavy floods damaged severely in UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand & Madhya Pradesh states since 4 days. Nearly 90 persons were killed in floods & heavy rains.

       The UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced Rs. 4, 00,000/- exgratia to the persons who died in the floods. Nearly 75 persons died in UP in the districts of Prayaga, Varanasi and Eastern districts of UP. The govt announced holidays to the schools up to September 30th due to heavy rains.

Bihar: The Bihar Chief Minister Nitesh Kumar reviewed the floods situations in the state & ordered the NDRF to participate in the rescue operations. Bihar capital Patna received heavy rains and water loggings in the main roads caused traffic Jam & trains disturbance. The Bihar govt medical colleges Nallanda Medical hospital was in full of water. The patience put their legs on the beds. The people in the Bihar were used boats in the streets for their transport.

          The MET announced Red Alert in UP & Bihar and also the govt announced two days holidays to the education institutions for the forecast rains two days (September 30th) in the state.
