CBI Arrested Former Union Minister P. Chidambaram Amid High Drama

New Delhi: CBI officers arrested, Former Union Minister P. Chidambaram on Wednesday evening after high drama outside his south Delhi residency. The congress activists and supporters shouting slogans against the CBI, police and unprecedented visuals of CBI investigators scaling walls and roofs to gain access inside.

     The investigative agencies are waiting for P. Chidambaram nearly 24 hours in connection with a corruption case. Chidambaram today evening at 7:00pm addressed in a press conference at the AICC head quarters, he said. That he has not been named as accused in the case. He has faith in the law, even if it is applied by an unequal hand by the investigative agencies, he added.

      Respect for the law can mean only one thing-awaits the Supreme Court’s decision on Friday… until Friday. Let’s hope the lamp of liberty will shine bright, he said. I was aghast that I will accuse of hiding from law. “I was pursuing the law”, he said. The 24 hours unseen P. Chidambaram said that he was working alongside with his lawyers the whole of last night and the whole day.

       Ministers later, the congress leaders Kapil Sibal and Abhisekh Mano Singhvi accompanied Chidambaram. As they reached, the area outside the Chidambaram Jor Bagh house descended in to chaos.
