CBI opposed interim bail: SC granted
New Delhi: The Supreme Court eventually granted interim protection to Mr. Chidambaram from arrest. The Court not interfered in the custody of Chidambaram an order delivered in this regard by a CBI Special Court yesterday.
The two membered Judges bench comprising Justices R. Bhanumati and A.S. Bopanna said that having heard the Council for the petitioner and Solicitor General Tushar Mehra, we are of the view that the co-accused were granted bail in the E.D case. Petitioner shall not be arrested till further hearing of the case on August 26th. The respondent shall file their reply and contention by Monday. The Solicitor General opposing the bail to Chidambaram and said to the Court that the ongoing probe into a case of monumental money laundering involving INX case.
