Gollapudi is No More

Chennai: Writer, Poet veteran actor Gollapudi Maruti Rao (80), passes away in a private hospital in Chennai on Thursday. He was born in 1938 in Vijayanagara Dist of Andhra Pradesh. He worked as a Assistant A.I.R Station Director and Director in Kadapa.

        He wrotes many stories, Dramas and plays in Telugu. He is basically known as a poet and writer. Gollapudi Maruthi Rao entered in Telugu Cinema as a Screenplay writer in 1960, the Film Dr. Chakravarthy. The film was casted by Dr. Akineni Nageshwar Rao, Savitri and Jaggaiah.

       Then afterwards he writes Screenplays for many films. He first acted as a supportive actor in “Intlo Ramaya – Vidhilo Krishnaya” in 1982, directed by Kodi Rama Krishna. Nearly he acted in 250 films in different roles as a comedian, villain, character actor and etc.,

      The cine industry expressed its grief on the demise of Gollapudi and said it’s a great loss to the industry and they conveyed condolences. His last rights will takes place on Sunday.
