Modi will arrive to Ayodhya to perform ground breaking rituals for Ram Temple

Ayodhya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive to Ayodhya on Wednesday, to perform ground breaking rituals for a Ram Temple. Prime Minister will leave Delhi to Lucknow by special flight tomorrow morning, and he will fly by a helicopter to Ayodhya, which in nearly 125 kms away.

The helicopter will land at a helipad set up in a college in the Uttar Pradesh holy town on the banks of the river Saryu. According to the Ram Temple trust sources Modi’s first visit will be to the Hanumangarhi temple, where he is expected to pray for 10 minutes.

Later he will proceed to Ram Janmabhoomi or the site of the temple, which thousands of devotees believe was the spot where Lord Ram was born. He will offer prayers to “Ram Lalla” or the idol of infant Ram before going to the stage where the groundbreaking ceremony will take place.

Modi will lay a 40-kg silver brick to symbolize the start of construction of the Ram Temple.  Among the 175 invitees to Wednesday’s function are 135 priests and spiritual leaders. The ceremony will be telecast live by national broadcaster Doordarshan.
