Political Tussle Turned into Power Game of “Musical Chairs”: Governor Invited NCP to Form Government

Mumbai: The political tussle in Maharashtra continuing with the suspense’s and playing a power game of “Musical Chairs” with the parties. The Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari invited the NCP, third single largest party in the assembly to form a government and gave 24 hours time to form a government on Monday at 07:30pm.

        The Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari denied the request of Siva Sena to extend another 48 hours to form the government on Monday evening. Due to the non-decision of Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi to extend support to the Siva Sena upto Monday evening will cause the Siva Sena to lose its offer by the governor. He has given Siva Sena 24 hours time to form a government as the single second largest party in the assembly on Sunday at 07:30pm. The Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi held a high level meeting on Monday at Congress party office in New Delhi with Ahmed Patel, Mallikarjuna Kharge and other leaders in the morning.

   The morning meeting had not taken any decision and decided to another meeting at 4.00 pm with the Maharashtra local leaders. The former Chief Ministers of Maharashtra and Ministers and other leaders expressed their opinions to Sonia Gandhi. The NCP leader Sharad Pawar played a key role to form a coalition between Congress and Siva Sena. On the advice of Sharad Pawar Siva Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray spoken with Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi over phone. Siva Sena accepted the terms and conditions dictated by the Congress and NCP to withdrawn their alliance with NDA by quitting their Minister Arvind Sawanth. 

   In the Maharashtra Assembly is having 288 seats, Siva Sena won 56, NCP won 54 and Congress won 44.  BJP won 105 and others 29. The magic figure to form the Government in the state is 145. There is no majority to any political party to form a Government. Now Siva Sena, NCP and Congress having 154 seats.

  As per the sources, Siva Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray is the Chief Minister, the NCP and Congress demanded the Deputy Chief Minister each. The Siva Sena LP leader Eknath Shinde, MLA Aditya Thackeray will meet the Governor to convey their ability and strength to form the Government on Monday’s night.
