Rahul, Opposition Leaders Sent Back from Srinagar Airport

Srinagar: The J & K officers sent back the team of 12 member’s opposition leaders to Delhi from Srinagar on Saturday. The opposition leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Gulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma [Congress], K C Venugopal, CPM [I] General Secretary Sitaram Yechuri, CPI leader Raja boarded at 11:50am flight for Srinagar.

        The delegation goes to Srinagar to gauge the situation in Jammu and Kashmir after the scrapping of Article 370. Whenever the delegation reached to Srinagar airport, the leaders were whisked away to the VIP lounge on the detention. While the accompanied media people were shooed out of the airport, some of them physically.

     According to the sources the Budgam dist, Magistrate under the officials asked the leaders to leave as it could create trouble. Rahul told the officials he came here on the invitations of Governor Satyapal Malik on Social Media and he was just reciprocating that. TMC leader Dinesh Trivedi and Yechuri asked where are our colleagues Omer Abdullah and Mahabooba Mufti. The officials asked the delegations to leave, following which they boarded a flight back to Delhi at 3:45pm.
