Sindhu Won Gold Medal: Women’s Badminton World Champion

Basel (Switzerland): Indian Ace Shuttler P V Sindhu created a history in the Badminton World Championships on Sunday by winning a gold medal in women’s Singles. She is the first women Indian Shuttler to win gold medal in Badminton World Championships by beating arch-rival Nozomi Okuhara of Japan. She won against Okuhara with consequently 21-7, 21-7 in the final that lasted just 38 minutes.

          PV Sindhu was defeated by Okuhara in 2017 and bagged Silver Medal. She also lost her final in 2018 against Carolina Marin of Spain and bagged Silver Medal in the final. Finally she won a gold medal in 2019 in the Badminton World Championships against Okuhara.

          She won the gold medal in Badminton for the country after 40 years. She celebrates her victory over Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara in the Badminton World Championships Women’s singles final at the St. Jackob Shalle in Basel on Sunday.

         PV Sindhu dedicates this win to her mom, as a birthday gift of her mom which celebrates on August 25th. She said that she thought she will gift her mother something on her birthday, finally she gift her mother this gold medal. She also said that she achieved this victory because of her parents that she will be here.
