Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh): Rama Janma Bhoomi Thertha Trust and other Hindu organizations are making elaborate arrangements for the Bhumi Pujan of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya on August 5.

The Rama Janma Bhoomi Thertha Trust is performing poojas from today onwards. On August 5 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the ceremony of land breaking, and will lay 40 Kgs silver bricks. The Rama Janma Bhoomi Thertha Trust invited nearly 200 members for the ceremony. The veteran BJP leaders LK Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi will participate through video conferencing.

Special arrangements are underway for the bhumi pujan of the proposed Ram temple at Ayodhya on August 5. As part of the arrangements, soil and water from Sangam, which is a confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and the Saraswathi rivers, will be taken to Ayodhya for the Bhumi pujan.

Leaders of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will be carrying the Sangam soil and water to Ayodhya. VHP spokesperson Ashwani Mishra said, “Former VHP president late Ashok Singhal had said that the sacred water and soil from the Sangam should be used in ‘bhumi pujan’ of the temple in Ayodhya. Our leaders will carry the Sangam soil and water to Ayodhya. The names of those who will be assigned the task will be announced soon.”

The VHP also plans to appeal to all followers of the Hindu faith to light diyas at their homes in the evening on the day of the bhumi pujan. Celebrations at various mutts and temples will be held on the day of the bhumi pujan. Notably, many seers and saints from Prayagaraj had taken part in the Ram temple movement. They will blow conch shells to celebrate the occasion. Mishra said, “We will celebrate the day like Diwali”.

The list of invitees to the bhumi pujan will be prepared by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. In keeping with the restrictions due to the pandemic, the number of invitees will be limited. The event will be telecast live to enable millions of devotees to watch the proceedings.
