Opposition demands Amit Shah’s resignation in Parliament

New Delhi: Both Parliament houses on Monday uproar over the Delhi riots on Monday. The Lok Sabha witnessing and unprecedented since when members of the treasury and opposition benches almost came to blows while the latter was protesting in the well of the house. TMC leaders protest against Delhi violence at Parliament by blind folding themselves and keeping a finger on their lips pointing to the Government’s attitude towards riots on Monday.

The Congress MPs staged protests in the Lok Sabha, on the directions of Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi, which was said to the MPs in a meeting at party’s office on Monday. She said that MPs should demand nothing less than the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The house was adjourned till 2 pm over the death of sitting JD (U) member Baidyanath Prasad Mahto the MP from Valmiki nagar from Bihar.

The opposition led by the Congress began protesting and shouting slogans seeking the resignation of Amit Shah after the Lok Sabha reassembled at 2 pm. Congress, DMK and TMC members were carrying placards saying “Save Democracy”, “Home Minister resign” and “No More Hate”. Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi, MP Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav were also present in the house.

After dismissing all adjournment motions of the opposition leaders, the Lok Sabha Speaker tried running the house normally with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman introducing the Direct Tax, Vivad Se Vishwas Bill and the Health Minister introducing the Medical termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Bill and Mineral Law Amendment Bill. The Congress MPs Hibi Eden and Gourav Gogoi went towards the BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal who is speaking on the Finance Bill and tried to block him on camera with a banner demanding the resignation of the Home Minister.

Then Jaiswal made a comment on Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and very soon all hell broke lose as the two MPs moved menacingly towards him. The ruling party MPs rushed towards them to separate them and both sides almost came to blows. Following this there seemed to be a free for all as MPs from both opposition and rulings sides pushed and shoved in the well. The Speaker then adjourned the house till 3 pm. Even after the house was adjourned the drama continued as MPs traded barbs and many like BJP MPs Ramesh Bindhuri and Ashwini Chaubey and Congress Hibi Eden and other continued to argue.

Apart from this, another battle front opened with Congress Kerala MP Ramya Haridas claiming that BJP MP Jaskaur Meena had physically assaulted her during that time. Both MPs wrote complaints to the Lok Sabha Speaker on each other.

As your are responsible representative of people here, it is your collective responsibility to maintain peace and tranquility after this. Lok Sabha Speaker adjourned the house till Tuesday.
