Rajni Wants to be Party Chief, Not CM

Chennai: Tamil Superstar turned into politician Rajnikanth said that he will bring radical changes in Tamil Nadu politics by providing seats to educationalists, youth 60 to 65% in the elections. He will act only the President of the party; he will not take the Chief Minister’s chair.

The CM post will left to the youth who are highly educated intellectuals, he said. Speaking in a press conference in Chennai on Thursday he said that he would make his political entry when there is a perceptible appraising in his favour. However he said that the appraising has to come now for by the time the next elections which are going to schedule in 2026.

This is the right time for an alternative in Tamil Nadu, where there is a vacuum. I urged media to be united and take the message forward and educate people, he said. It is all in your hands, if you don’t accept what I am saying now, how will you accept in five years? He said. He also said that a miracle will happen and it will happen in 2021 elections, which he said earlier. He also said that he never aspired to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu but want to create leaders.

The system should change he said earlier. Entering politics before cleaning up the system is like making sweet Pongal in a fish, kuzhambu vessel, he said. There was a vacuum then following the demise of legendary politicians J. Jaya Lalitha of the AIADMK and M Karunanidhi of the DMK, he added. He also said that he was offered this CM Chair in 1996 itself, when he was just 45 years. He spoke about his three-point vision, after a wide discussion with many people with a view to finding the mean for alternative politics.
