Amit Shah Clarified No Documents Required for NPR

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that no document will be asked under NPR, you are free to give whatever information you want. Replying to a question on the debate on Delhi riots on Thursday in Rajya Sabha, he said that nobody will be marked a doubtful citizen, no one should be scared of NPR process.

Urging all parties to come together and dispel fears about the CAA and NPR, Amit Shah assured the opposition parties as the above in the house. He also invited a delegation of the opposition party to come and discuss the NPR along with officials of the ministry to dispel fears being propagated about the NPR.

The government assured parliament on Thursday that those responsible for riots “irrespective of their political, religious affiliation will be brought to book”, after Morethan 50 people lost their lives and many got severely injured during the recent north-delhi violence. The government in the Rajya Sabha also blamed the opposition for spreading lies against the amended CAA, with the union Home Minister said ignited hate speeches.

In his reply to a short question on Delhi violence in the upper house he asserted that the government was not running away from the debate, as alleged by the opposition but only wanted peaceful holi.
