Vijayawada: Senior BJP Leader, MLC Somu Veera Raju appointed as Andhra Pradesh BJP State unit new president on Monday. The BJP national president JP Nadda appointed Somu Veera Raju as president on Monday, in place of incumbent president Kanna Lakshmi Narayana.

Some Veera Raju is a worker in Sangh Pariwar from his school days. He is a loyalist to the ideologist of RSS and VHP and BJP. He worked as Ex- General Secretary & Vice President for BJP in Andhra Pradesh. Veeraju was President and secretary of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in the state.

He was also general secretary and vice-president of state unit. In 2015, he was elected as MLC from BJP. He hails from farmer’s family living in a village called Katheru in East Godavari district.
