Stolen US plane lands on field after pilot threatens to hit Wal-Mart Store

Mississippi: The Mississippi police has taken a pilot into custody for stealing a plane from Tupelo, a city in Northeast Mississippi in US. Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves said in a twitter that a pilot, circling a stolen airplane for hours over Tupelo threatening to intentionally crash it into a Wal-Mart store.

He was taken into custody after he landed the aircraft safely, he said. The situation has been resolved and no one was injured. Thank you most of all too local, State and Federal Law enforcement who managed this situation with extreme professionalism.

According to the police sources the plane, a Beechcraft King Air 90, was airborne for more than five hours, which police described as a dangerous situation. Police were in talks with the pilot but gave no information on the person’s identity or motive. All emergency services were put on alert, it said.
