Telangana to adopt Ayushman Bharat scheme for Covid – 19 patients: KCR

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao instructed the Health Department officials on Tuesday to initiate steps for the implantation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the State. The State Government brought the Covid – 19 treatments under the Ayushman Bharat scheme through State’s Aarogyasri.

The State Health Department entered a MoU with National Health Authority for the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which the Central scheme converging with the State government’s Aarogyasri.  Oxygen supply and the cost of essential medicines for the Covid – 19 treatment will now are covered under Ayushman Bharat.

While signing the MoU, the State Medical and Health Department finalized the guidelines for the implementation of Ayushman Bharat scheme in the State. CM KCR instructed officials concerned to ensure extending medical services in tune with guidelines.

SAM Rizvi, Medical and Health Principal Secretary issued orders, stating that the CEO Aarogyasri Health Care Trust is directed to ensure that treatment of patients in empanelled hospitals across the State is taken up as per the converged scheme of Ayushman Bharat –Aarogyasri with immediate effect.
