Join duties unconditionally on or before November 5th midnight: KCR
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandra Sekhar Rao asked the TSRTC employees to join their duties on or before November 5th midnight unconditionally. This is the last chance to the employees to save their jobs, he said.
Speaking
in a press conference at Pragathi Bhavan on Saturday evening, after the cabinet
meeting, KCR said that the cabinet discussed on the RTC demands and came to an
understanding, it is not possible to merger the RTC into the Government. The Government
also decided to privatise the RTC buses 5, 100 and issue permits to them. The remaining
5, 100 buses will be with the RTC. If the employees join within the stipulated
date November 5, the Government will run RTC with 50% buses. KCR also said that
the cabinet decided to go for 50% privatization as per the Motor Vehicle
Transport Amendment Act- 2019. In this Act the Union Government categorically
said in the section- 67 to go for privatization 50-50.
He said the RTC strike was meaningless and
the workers had gone on strike against the Government’s advice. The Joint
Commissioner of Labour has declared the strike illegal; once this happens,
relations between the management and workers are cut off. He said there was no
compulsion on the part of the Government to implement the schemes and
programmes of AP. Mr. Rao asked the BJP why it had not protested when the
Centre had enacted the law that allowed 50% private services in RTCs.
