Hyderabad: TPCC Chief A Revanth Reddy, will take oath as new Chief Minister of Telangana on Thursday at L.B. Stadium. He is the 2nd Chief Minister of the State after formation of Telangana.

The AICC General Secretary K. C. Venugopal announced Revanth Reddy’s name as the new Chief Minister of Telangana at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Tuesday evening. He also announced the swear-in ceremony of the new CM at L.B. Stadium on 7th December.

AICC Chief Mallikarjun Kharge decided Revanth Reddy’s name as the new CM of Telangana, after considering the report of observers and after discussion with senior leaders. The Congress President has decided to go with Revanth Reddy as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in Telangana.

Venugopal said the CLP in Telangana had unanimously decided to authorize the Congress President to take a decision to appoint the CLP leader in its meeting on Sunday.

He said the party had appointed four observers, including Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, Deepa Dasmunshi, Ajoy Kumar, and K J George, besides AICC General Secretary In-charge Manikrao Thakre. Shivakumar and Thakre were present as Venugopal announced the party high command’s decision on Telangana.
