Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that he won’t implement the proposed NRC in Maharashtra. Speaking to the media persons on Sunday he said that it would make proving citizenship complicated for Hindus and Muslims.

He defended the controversial CAA, though the allies of Maha Vikas Aghadi, Congress party and NCP opposed the CAA. He also said that CAA won’t take away anyone’s citizenship but rather grant citizenship to persecuted Minorities from neighbouring countries. The Siva Sena has been vocal supporters of CAA, which is considered the persecutor to the NRC. He said in an interview in the ‘Saamana’ paper he said the NRC will not be allowed in the state. He also reiterated that his party would continue to endorse the Hindutva.

We have not abandoned the Hindutva and will never do so, said the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
