Some unidentified person stole ₹ 55 lakh cash from Union Bank of India

New Delhi: Some unidentified persons stole ₹ 55 lakh cash from Union Bank of India’s Shahdara area branch on Sunday. According to the police sources on Monday said that some unidentified persons entered the bank by breaking through the walls of an under construction building next to it.

They stole money from bank which had collected from depositors on Friday and Saturday, all the lockers and jewellery which were in the other part of the bank are safe, said police. After hearing the theft news in the bank, worried customers lined up outside the bank.

Police officials examined the site and the hole that the thieves had drilled to make their way into the bank through the wall of the under construction building. The CCTV camera installed inside the bank premises recorded one of the thieves, the police said. The police investigation is going on.
